Opinion Poll #13

This week, HQ launched another opinion poll... this is actually a regular poll that we are always encouraged to participate. This poll was special, because the questions were different, focusing on how we see the upcoming merger: are we informed? are we convinced? do we think we are prepared?

At the end, the question that is always asked, "How do you feel at Com?"

The result... as expected.

Questions... hundreds of them

What do people ask during this kind of time?

Questions: tough questions, silly questions, honest questions, tricky questions, self-interest questions, ...
  • Will I got laid off, got my severance payment, and then be re-recruited back in the new company? :-)
  • Will I be just transfered to the new company? What about my length of service (period of working with the company)?
  • Will anybody got his pink slip anyway?
  • Will I ever be transfered?
  • What will happen to my department... because the other has this same department too?
  • Will my salary be adjusted to their standards (which is allegedly better)?
  • May we retain our current fringe benefit?
  • Who will head the new company?
  • Will we move to another office building (again)?
  • Which product lines will be discontinued? When?
  • What should we tell our customers?
  • WHY? HOW COULD YOU? (yelling!)
(to be continued)

It's Announced

... finally, after few months of rumours and gossips, it is announced.

Nokia and Siemens are merging their communications business unit into a new joint-venture entity called Nokia Siemens Networks. It is a 50-50 JV, with the new company HQ-ed in Helsinski, Finland.

The top exec is staffed by 2 Siemens-er & 2 Nokia-ns.

Exciting?!
